Elon Musk just announced that the New York City to Washington D.C. Hyperloop will happen. A tweet by Musk explains that he has received ‘verbal approval’ to build an underground Hyperloop (with up to a dozen entrance/exits for each city). In a later tweet he added there is still work to do to get official approval, however he remains optimistic this will happen rapidly.

Currently from New York City to Washington DC takes four hours to drive and three hours by train. At its completion, the Hyperloop will dramatically decrease travel time, allowing riders to travel from city center to city center in less than 30 minutes. Specifics are still to come! We wish him luck with his endeavors.
