The French designer Mathieu Lehanneur has produced his series of ‘energy objects’, intended to monitor how much energy one is consuming in their home. Simply known as ‘Efficient Home’, they look like a set of letters from the alphabet, small pictograms/symbols serving to express user-friendliness and encourage usage.
The series consists of six devices (actuator, in-home display, smart plug, nano-controller, room-temperature sensor, MMS-Multimedia Messaging Service). They devices mount onto household appliances, both monitoring and regulating consumption. The devices optimize appliances, enhancing their energy performance. If followed correctly, it becomes possible to reduce the overall carbon-footprint of a household through an accumulation of small energy-savings. Smart-one for sure!
