Ofis Arhitekti has unveiled an elegant wooden retreat that’s stacked upwards towards the sky. The architects worked with C+C, C28 and AKT to create a beautiful structure made from modular blocks near Ljubljana’s landmark medieval fortress.
Each building unit accommodates two people via kitchen, a bathroom, a bed, and seating. If that fails to please, units can be shifted from horizontal to vertical forming additional diverse configurations.
Units can be used as holiday cabins, tree houses, research purposes or simply shelter. The cabins are tied to the ground via steel cables and concrete tubes freeing the interior of supports so they can be endlessly reconfigured to customized needs.
Currently, this unit is acting as a library with each floor supporting a different category. The intimate reading spaces are slipped underneath to offer amazing city views. One has to just look at the well-made structure and cladding to appreciate the level of workmanship found in Slovenia’s traditional history of wood crafts and carpentry. Amazing moment!
